Raspberry Limeade

Angel has submitted her recipe and picture from the Freeze-Dried Fruit Powder Challenge. This Raspberry Limeade is a wonderful and refreshing way to create a drink with all natural ingredients and a good serving of real fruit. If you add 50% plain seltzer or soda water to the completed Limeade it’s like having a soda. This would be great for the kids who always want to drink a soda.

Thank you Angel for putting the recipe together for us.

Raspberry Limeade

Recipe by Angel Bloom
Makes 2 quarts

  • 2 cups/480 ml lime juice — fresh squeezed
  • 3 tablespoons raspberry freeze-dried fruit powder — Nutri-Fruit
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar — or to taste
  • 6 cups/1.4 liters water — approximately

In a blender combine lime juice, fruit powder and sugar and blend thoroughly.

You can make a sugar syrup by heating some of the water and the sugar in a pan on the stove until it is dissolved.

Add water to the pitcher to make a 2 quart/1.9 liter capacity and pour over ice and serve.

This can be added to unflavored soda or seltzer water or a lime seltzer water to make a raspberry lime soda. Use a mixture of 50% limeade to 50% soda water.

You can also do this basic formula with lemons and any kind of fruit powder you like. A lemon and mango powder combination was very good.
